About

Kate Lawson-Hedger (she/her) is a minister and an advocate working toward a world where all can flourish, both physically and spiritually. Her first book Praying with Kids: Whole Body Practices for Families and Church Communities (IVP Press, forthcoming) will be released on November 17, 2026.

With experience in both ministry and fundraising, Kate has worked for the local church and nonprofit organizations. She has ministered in various roles, including serving as a children's ministry director, piloting a prayer ministry, and developing spiritual formation resources for both children and adults. She holds a Master of Arts in Religion and Culture from Virginia Theological Seminary, where she completed a thesis exploring the intersections of social justice and eschatology.

Kate is a two-time cancer survivor, awe-seeker, and embodiment enthusiast. You can find her trying to a climb tree or at the geology exhibit at the Natural History Museum. Kate lives with her husband and the most adorable of all dogs, Bibi, in Northern Virginia.
